Six more crocodile hatchlings died at the Parassinikkadavu snake park in Kannur, Kerala pushing the toll to 27.
While 18 crocodiles, most of them new-borns, died of suffocation after packed in air-tight sacks, two storks and a snake also died since the confiscation began on Sunday last.
The reptiles and other animals died during the three-day custody operations of the forest officials, on an order from the central zoo authority for 'violation of Wildlife Protection Act'.
