Mumbai, Feb 17: Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) workers have got another cause to disrupt the normalcy of existence. This time around the target of their attack is ‘Marjani’ song from ‘Billu’.
Over 500 MNS workers protested outside Kalpana theatre at Kurla demanding the deletion of item-song ‘Marjani Marjani’ that features Shah Rukh and Kareena. The protestors took up cudgels on behalf of the entire Muslim universe and objected to the use of certain words in the song.

According to the workers, the lines `rab ke hazoor mein kasmein bhi khaali li, duniya ki oni boni kasmein nibhadi` insult the works of Prophet Mohammed, the messenger of god. “How can they undermine the work of Mohammed by calling the world a small place,” said Chintoo Sheikh, Secretary MNS Mahtuk Sena.

The MNS workers issued a three-day ultimatum to the production asking them to withdraw the song from theatre screenings all over India. “We hope that the song will be withdrawn from theatres across the country by evening,” informs Sheikh.

The film ‘Billu’ appears jinxed as it ran into controversies even before release. Barbers all over the country protested against the usage of the word ‘Barber’ and the name of the film changed from ‘Billu Barber’ to ‘Billu’. Now, Islamic groups are expressing their displeasure against the film’s ‘Marjani’ song. After shoulder surgery, Shah Rukh is in for some mental agony, too.
