Revocation of NSA against Varun "exposed" UPA govt: BJP

BJP on Friday welcomed revocation of NSA against Varun Gandhi and said the ruling of the Uttar Pradesh Advisory Panel "badly exposed" the UPA government and its vote bank politics.

New Delhi, May 08: BJP on Friday welcomed revocation of NSA against Varun Gandhi and said the ruling of the Uttar Pradesh Advisory Panel "badly exposed" the UPA government and its vote bank politics.
"This was bound to happen as the Supreme Court was
going to trash it. This (invocation of NSA against Varun) was
a ploy and injustice done to Varun for votebank politics. Even
without investigating, the central government wanted to slap
NSA on him," BJP spokesperson Prakash Javadekar told PTI.

He said that with this verdict the central government
stood "badly exposed".

"The central government has been found eager to free
Ottavio Quottrocchi (Bofors scam accused), soft on Afzal Guru
(Parliament attack convict) and hang Varun," he charged.

The BJP spokesman maintained that the role of the
Mayawati government in UP was no better than that of the
central government in this whole episode.

"UP government and UPA government play the same
vote bank politics," Javadekar alleged.
