Repolling in 12 booths in Bihar`s West Champaran, Vaishali and Sheohar parliamentary constituencies today passed off peacefully amid tight security.

West Champaran, Vaishali and Sheohar parliamentary
constituencies today passed off peacefully amid tight
security.

"It was a peaceful exercise," state election office
sources said, adding an estimated 40 to 42 per cent votes
were polled today.

Repoll was ordered following disturbances caused at these
booths due to various reasons during the second phase polling
in Bihar on April 23.

Repoll held at booth no 83 of Narkatiaganj Assembly
segment of West Champaran, where RJD supremo Lalu Prasad`s
estranged brother-in-law and Congress nominee Anirudh Prasad
alias Sadhu Yadav, filmmaker Prakash Jha of LJP, and BJP`s
Sanjay Jaiswal are contesting.

Repoll was also conducted at booth no 218 of Baruraj
Assembly segment, 143 and 186 of Sahebganj Assembly segment of
Vaishali parliamentary constituency where RJD nominee and
Union Minister Raghuvansh Prasad Singh is fighting for another
term against ruling JD(U)`s Munna Shukla.

Repoll was also conducted at booth numbers 5,6,58,85 and
106 of Chiraiya Assembly segment, 196 of Dhaka assembly
segment and 48 and 114 of Sheohar Assembly segment.

Congress nominee Lovely Anand is contesting against RJD`s
sitting MP Sita Ram Singh in Sheohar.
