New Delhi, July 07: Union Finance Ministry and Reserve Bank of India (RBI) officials will meet in New Delhi on July 17 to finalise the new borrowing plan for the April-September period, Finance Secretary Ashok Chawla said on Tuesday.
In the 2009-10 Budget released on Monday, Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee said the government would borrow Rs 4.51 trillion (USD 93 billion) in the year to March 31, much higher than an Interim Budget estimate of Rs 3.62 trillion.
The RBI had earlier outlined a schedule to borrow Rs 2.41 trillion in the first half of 2009/10.
