Mumbai, April 25: Actor Ranbir Kapoor is all set to take up politics in Prakash Jha’s ambitious venture ‘Rajniti’. And reports reveal that Ranbir’s character in the flick is based on the life of none other than Rajiv Gandhi.
The actor reportedly plays a young NRI lad in the film, who returns to India to join politics at the time of family crisis.
According to director Prakash Jha, Ranbir’s character can be described as someone who “defines democracy in today’s world”.
But there’s something that’s going to be different for this modern-day ‘neta’, and that will be his dressing. Ranbir won’t play the reluctant politician in the usual khadi kurta-pyjama dress code. “Ranbir will be very trendily dressed. He plays a young man of today,” says Jha.
Ranbir is very excited about his looks and dialogues in the film, which also stars Katrina Kaif, Ajay Devgan , Arjun Rampal , Nana Patekar and Manoj Bajpai .
