“I love you” – These three words which sum up the feelings for that someone special in your life. These three words have changed history, created scandals and also made some of the bravest men admit their proposals being declined by their beloved.
Do you remember the long nights you spent planning, rehearsing, perfecting your proposal; all the while thinking – Does she /he still loves me?

To relive yourself of the heartache here is a set of simple questions which will help you decide the fate of your love life…

   * Is this "the first face" you want to see when you wake up?
 * Does thinking about him/her bring a smile to your face?
 * Do you forget yourself when you are with him/her?
 * Do you share a mutual understanding and good comfort level?
 * Can you accept him/her the way he/she is?
 * Does he/she share his/her feelings about the important things in life with you?
 * Is he/she always there, even when you have the slightest of problems?
 * Is he/she able to guess what you are going to say, even before you utter the words?
 * Try to find out whether he/she feels the same as you do.

If the answers to these questions are positive, then don’t wait anymore. Just go and tell your partner how much you love him/her. And if the other person does not share your feelings, then, you risk losing even your friendship by expressing your feelings.
Also check the ambience, time, his/her mood etc; everything should be perfectly set.

Let me share one of my close buddy’s experience of the jubilant moment – when the guy whom she had been dating for nearly two years (not that she was not in love, she was head over heels in love!), suddenly winked at her and said those three magical words from a distance (of course he did not scream), letting her do the lip reading. What next? She blushed, went crimson and tears welled up in her eyes. And we – we tease “the happily married couple” even now when we meet.

So now this was just one of the ways of proposing, which happened with my friend. A hitherto unfamiliar proposal.

Proposing

Love is madness and proposing a real life tension. It’s not necessary that one has to wait for Valentine’s Day to declare their love. But it is sheer coincidence of the day with the spring season during which many a hearts are set aflutter, the lovers bond with nature weaving its intoxicating spell.

Say it with love

As always expected about the man making the first move, here are few tips on how to propose your sweetheart. And always keep in mind that it’s only your love that you have for them matters. Rest all is secondary.

Always remember to switch off your mobile phones for this one evening.
The traditional method

Go down on knees and tell your partner how much you love her and how much you would like to be her companion.
The ladies still rate this move as the most romantic way of proposing.

At Home

Houses are in fact one of the most preferred places by lovers who want to spend some time away from the noise.

Invite your partner for dinner at your place and cook his/her favourite dishes. Decorate one room with aroma candles and fill the entire floor with red rose petals. Put on some good music while you both have dinner. Now, blindfold her and take her to the decorated room. Remove the blindfold and propose.

Another trick is to decorate her room with flowers and gifts while she is asleep or away. Give her a pleasant surprise by popping the question when she wakes up or after she returns.

Play treasure hunt

You can keep her curiosity kindled by planting clues all over the house. Let her begin the quest with a hint at the start. Surprise her at the final puzzle with a diamond ring enclosed in a box.
Adding a personal touch

Being more sensitive girls melt when they are proposed in a subtle yet romantic manner Take her to the place where you first met and declare your feelings for her.

Proposing at the beach as the sun sets is another great idea of proposing.

By Jove! I’m tired after thinking for hours probably days trying to find out – how to propose a guy? Unlike the strong, chivalrous persona that men turn in public, they too are sensitive and emotional.

So girls, it doesn’t matter in which way you plan to propose your man, just ‘handle him with care’.
