Washington, Sept 05: Director Vadim Perelman has been brought in to direct the movie adaptation of Ayn Rand’s best-seller ‘Atlas Shrugged’ starring Angelina Jolie.

Perelman, who has been roped in by Lionsgate, will also be penning the script for the movie based on a draft by "Braveheart" scribe Randall Wallace, who managed to boil down Rand’s 1,100-plus page book to a 127-page script.

According to Variety, production on the movie is likely to start in early 2008, a little over 50 years after Rand's novel was first published in 1957.

The movie will be produced by Howard and Karen Baldwin and Media Talent Group's Geyer Kosinski.

In the meanwhile, Perelman is getting set for the premier of his latest film, the Uma Thurman-Evan Rachel Wood starrer "In Bloom", which is set to be showcased at the Toronto Film Festival.

Jolie, on the other hand, has to complete the Clint Eastwood-directed "The Changeling" for Universal, Imagine and Malpaso before turning her attention to "Atlas Shrugged".
