Mumbai, Feb 25: Mrs Israel Sima Bakahar was tonight crowned Mrs World 2005 at the Amby Valley Sahara Lake City.
Mrs Croatia Ivana Boce and Mrs New Zealand Sherin pace were the first and second runner up respectively.
Bakahar's reply to final round question, the most challenging part of the competition, won her the crown beating 40 other contestants.
"Being away from my daughter for so long for the first time", the architect replied to the final poser.
Mrs India Jeevika Shah was among the six semi-finalist.
The event, compered by Mallaika Arora and John Harley, was interspersed with some music rendered by 'sitar funk' a three-member traditional western fusion music band.
The Shamiak Davar Junior dance company stole the show with nearly 18 children dancing to some foot-tapping numbers from the latest blockbuster films.
Former tennis player and businessman Vijay Amritraj, director Ashutosh Gowarikar, former Mrs America Heidi Dinan, former Mrs World Rosy Senanayake and Swapna Roy from Sahara Group comprised the panel of judges.
Celebrities, Fardeen Khan, Subhash Ghai, Aditi Gowitrikar, Manisha Koirala and Boris Becker were among those who attended the function.
The grand event culminated as Mrs World danced with other contestants under the canopy of a star-studded sky.
