Jaipur, Feb 16: Lalit Modi, the commissioner of the extravagant Indian Premier League (IPL), has lashed out at the Rajasthan government for not assuring a venue for IPL matches in Jaipur.
He said that the FIRs against him on the cheating case were inconsistent and were politically motivated.

He further went on to threaten that he had the authority to shift the venues for IPL matches and that the venue for the matches might be shifted. He said, “If the government does not assure us a venue, we will shift it elsewhere. I have the authority to do so.”

"It is going to deter the IPL management from staging matches (in Jaipur). The Governing Council has already taken a decision authorising me to decide whether we should be able to hold matches anywhere, whether it`s one place or x, y, z," Modi told reporters.

"The option to move matches (out of Jaipur) is available to us. We are looking at alternate venues without doubt. If any government anywhere is going to deter the IPL management from staging matches we would take away those matches and hold them elsewhere," he added.
