Former opposition leader in the Arunachal Pradesh Assembly Kameng Dolo, who along with seven BJP members defected to the ruling Congress, Tuesday said their action was intended to speed up state`s development by strengthening hands of the new Chief Minister Dorjee Khandu.

Itanagar, June 05: Former opposition leader in the
Arunachal Pradesh Assembly Kameng Dolo, who along with seven
BJP members defected to the ruling Congress, Tuesday said their
action was intended to speed up state's development by
strengthening hands of the new Chief Minister Dorjee Khandu.

Addressing a press conference at his residence today,
Dolo said they had been in the opposition for some years but
little was done for the development of the state.

He was flanked by some of the former BJP MLAs whose entry
into the Congress was approved by Speaker Setong Sena
yesterday itself.

Dolo alleged that former Chief Minister Gegong Apang had
not taken any step to tap the huge hydro power potential of
the state during his long rule.

Only last year he had signed some MOAs which could have
been done much earlier.
