Mindcrest to up headcount to 1,000; hire 350 people in FY`10

Offshore legal services provider Mindcrest will hire 350 people in the country during the current financial year, taking the total employee strength to more than 1,000.

New Delhi, June 07: Offshore legal services provider Mindcrest will hire 350 people in the country during the current financial year, taking the total employee strength to more than 1,000.

"We will increase our total employee strength in India to over 1,000 by this fiscal and for which we will offer jobs to nearly 350 people in the country," Mindcrest president and CEO Ganesh Natarajan said.

At present, the total number of lawyers employed in the Mumbai-based legal process outsourcing (LPO) firm is 650.

Apart from increasing its human resource in India, the company would also double its attorney number in the US, Natarajan said. Currently, the US offices employ only 20 lawyers.

"The US, along with some other developed nations, is witnessing a proliferation in the number of litigation works to be outsourced to the cheaper destinations like India, so we hope to get more and more contracts in the coming days. And for that we need more human resource," Mindcrest MD Rohan Dalal said.

Interestingly, a major chunk of legal jobs-related to outsourcing in the country comes from nations like the US and United Kingdom, where legal services firms charge higher money than India.

Mindcrest has four offices in the US located in Chicago, New York, Washington DC and San Francisco and in India it operates from Mumbai and Pune.

The firm offers services in areas such as document review and management, contracts management, legal analytics, compliance and legal research.

According to Dalal, due to the ongoing slump in the global economy, corporate houses are now giving more preference to outsourcing their legal works to cheaper destination and India is an ideal place for the same.
