Mayawati blames BJP of maligning her, attacks media

Lucknow, June 05: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati today lashed out at the BJP for "maligning" her image and accused it of using the CBI and the court to frame
her in the Taj Heritage Corridor Case.

Hours after CBI told a designated court that the state Governor has declined sanction to prosecute her in the case, Mayawati at a press conference also charged the media
with joining BJP in maligning her.

Mayawati regretted that the case is being dubbed as a Rs 175 crore scam when actually only a amount of Rs 17 crore was released by her government in 2002 for the project.
