Mani Ratnam released from hospital

Filmmaker Mani Ratnam has been released from hospital, a week after he was admitted with chest discomfort, a hospital spokeswoman said on Thursday.

Mumbai, April 24: Filmmaker Mani Ratnam has been released from hospital, a week after he was admitted with chest discomfort, a hospital spokeswoman said on Thursday.
Ratnam, 53, was discharged from Apollo hospital in Chennai on Wednesday and is doing well, the spokeswoman said.

Doctors treating him had said the director suffered a heart attack in the past.

Ratnam, who directed Bollywood hits like "Bombay" and "Guru" is recognised as one of India`s most talented filmmakers.

He is currently shooting for a project starring Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
