Mumbai, Feb 05: Katrina Kaif’s ‘Rajniti’ is creating quite a buzz. The film, which is to see the glam-doll in an all-new sober avatar, has been seen as her forte to intense roles and a ticket to switch from popcorn to meaningful cinema. But looks like, the sultry charmer has a mammoth task ahead as she will be essaying the role inspired by one of the most influential and powerful political figure Sonia Gandhi.
The political drama that is directed by the much-reputed director Prakash Jha, has created frenzy ever since the buzz of Katrina playing the role of Sonia has hit stalls. And grapevine has it that Ranbir Kapoor, Kat’s love interest in the flick, has it his character inspired by none other than Rajiv Gandhi.
Talking about the similarities in the script to the real life political situations of the Gandhi family, a news daily quoted a source as saying, “Like Sonia, Katrina takes over her husband’s political career after his sudden death and she goes on to become a political figure in her own right.”
As per the need of her character, Katrina is also reported to have undergoing speech training. And going by the lady’s anglicised accent and sassy appeal, doing ‘Rajniti’ won’t be easy.
