India's top film stars make donations for Tsunami victims

New Delhi, Jan 05: India's biggest Bollywood star Shahrukh Khan chipped in for Tsunami victims as he gave millions of rupees for the relief and rehabilitation for orphaned children and those left homeless by Asia's worst Tsunami on record.

New Delhi, Jan 05: India's biggest Bollywood star Shahrukh Khan chipped in for Tsunami victims as he gave millions of rupees for the relief and rehabilitation for orphaned children and those left homeless by Asia's worst Tsunami on record.

Khan along with actress Rani Mukherjee and filmmaker Karan Johar handed over the cheque to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in New Delhi.

Khan, a hugely popular actor is a rage amongst India's youth with his every move, hairstyle, dress and even the characteristic speech being copied by millions of fans. His donation and appeal for help are expected to inspire many of the young people to come out in aid.

The film stars were followed suite by southern state
Chief Dharam Singh who gave 20 million rupees to the
Federal relief fund. In northern Lucknow city a 10-year-old
boy touched hearts after he gave 5000 rupees collected
using his own savings, donations and by selling handmade
cards to the state Chief Mulayam Singh Yadav.
