Recently, Miss Russia's crown was taken away. Many come without being told what is expected of them. However, Indian girls are told what is expected of them when they are being prepared for the contest.

How have you grown as a person?
At 16, I had moved from my hometown in Bangalore to a fast-paced Mumbai and went on to win a pageant in New York. I think I have stopped thinking inside a box. It is very important in life to look at the larger picture. Now I have a live-and-let-live attitude.

How do you relax?

What are your hobbies?
I read anything from airline magazines to fiction and non-fiction. I love mental sports, white water rafting and mountaineering.

What do you think of Delhi?
I was born in Mohan Meakin hospital in Ghaziabad (I am still teased about the name of the hospital) and spent 17 years of my life in Bangalore. But my paternal grandmother lives in Delhi and it is always a pleasure to come here. But Delhi summers are unbearable!

What are your plans in life?
I want to direct a documentary film, maybe with a journalistic touch.
