Govt plans to re-discover Shimla`s pride with public support

The Himachal Pradesh government on Sunday launched a heritage tourism scheme under which data would be collected from public on the historical importance of structures in the capital city.

on Sunday launched a heritage tourism scheme under which data
would be collected from public on the historical importance of
structures in the capital city.
The information, mainly sought from people residing at
pre-Independent era houses, would be made part of tourism
literature for attracting travellers to the Himalayan state,
Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal said after launch of `Har
Ghar Kuch Kehta Hai` scheme on the World Tourism Day.

After compiling of inputs, infrastructure development
would be carried out at such structures to improve
accessibility. Plaques would be installed outside these houses
with brief description on its historical facts, an official
release said.
Shimla is historically important on account of its
pre-Independence era status as the summer capital of British
India.
