New Delhi, Jan 06: The Election Commission team is in Chandigarh to probe into the violation of model code of conduct by INLD(Indian National Lok Dal). The team will question senior officials before submitting its report to the Election Commission within two days.
Haryana Chief Minister and INLD president Om Parkash Chautala today said he would send a reply to the Election Commission on its show cause notice seeking explanation as to why action should not be taken against the ruling party for allegedly trying to bribe the voters in the poll bound state by promising jobs.

Addressing a press conference here he said, "I have received the notice last night. A reply would be sent after seeking comments from party MLA and his son Abhay Singh Chautala, who has been accused of promising 10,000 jobs between February three - day of polling - and February 27 - the day of counting."

Chautala told a questioner that no other issue has been mentioned by the commission in its show cause notice. The model code of conduct has been directed by the EC to remain in force till March five, he said adding that the INLD would have to follow it in the democratic set up.

He said every party makes promises to woo the voters. His party manifesto also is full of promises. "I have suggested to the party manifesto committee to include promise of jobs," the Chief Minister added.

The Election Commission had yesterday accused Abhay of trying to woo voters in the poll-bound state and issued a show-cause notice to INLD asking it to explain why action should not be taken against it for violation of model code of conduct.
