New Delhi, Jan 05: Congress and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha leaders are expected to hold talks today to finalise the seat-sharing arrangement for next month's assembly polls in Jharkhand.
JMM chief and Union Minister Sibu Soren, who arrived here yesterday, is expected to have talks today with Congress leaders on seat sharing arrangement for the assembly polls, AICC secretary and incharge of Jharkhand R P N Singh told reporters here.

Jharkhand would go to polls for the first time after it was carved out of Bihar.

To a question about the shape of the seat-sharing arrangement, he said the party is in favour of unity of all secular forces to throw out the "corrupt" BJP in Jharkhand.

Asked as to how many seats the Congress would contest, Singh said that this was "not an issue".

"Whosoever was in a position to win would be contesting," he said.

He parried a question on who would head the government in the event of the Congress-JMM combine emerging victorious, saying this would be decided after the polls.

Earlier, Soren told reporters that the issue of Chief Ministership was open and it would be decided after the elections.

"Wait for the poll outcome. Whosoever wins, will become the Chief Minister," he said.
