Civilian airports will come up at Bikaner and Kishangarh-Ajmer in Rajasthan to promote tourism.

Jaipur/Amritsar, Feb 25: Civilian airports will
come up at Bikaner and Kishangarh-Ajmer in Rajasthan to
promote tourism, Union Minister Praful Patel said today and
announced plans to expand aviation services in Punjab and
Uttarkhand to help industrial development in the region.

Airport Authority of India and Rajasthan government
have signed an MoU to set up an airport at Kishangarh
especially to cater to visitors to Dargah Sharief and Pushkar
in Ajmer district, Patel said after dedicating a new
International Terminal Building at the airport in the pink
city Jaipur.

Patel said the foundation stone for a civil airport in
Bikaner would be laid on March 2.

Suggesting that Rajasthan earmark a sum of Rs 15-20
crores per annum for new airport development, Patel said like
North-Eastern states where the Centre provided a subsidy,
Rajasthan should also start work on intra-state airports in
all tourist cities for its alround growth and tourism.

In a day-long whirwind trip to three states, Patel
today also inaugurated an integrated Terminal Building at
Rajasansi International Airport in Amritsar, Punjab and
another integrated terminal building at Jolly Grant Airport in
Dehradun, Uttarkhand.
