The partnership will be on non-exclusive, revenue sharing
franchisee basis.

The franchisee will be awarded on License Service Area
(LSA)- Franchisee Territory basis for Karnataka, Tamil Nadu,
Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh (East),
Uttar Pradesh (West), West Bengal, Himachal Pradesh, Bihar,
Orissa, Assam, Jammu & Kashmir, North East, Kolkata and

The proposed Wireless Broadband services will provide
broadband data access to the internet, VPN clients, QoS to
individual subscribers, video conferencing, IP multicast
and wireless leased lines and other such service under
Broadband Wireless Access in 2.5 GHZ band spectrum allocated
to BSNL.

Earlier, BSNL had to cancel the tendering process amid
allegations of unsuitable companies being in the fray for the
franchisee deal.

The PSU chairman Kuldeep Goyal had said the tenders were
called for the second time as the earlier applicants were not
fulfilling the criteria. However, industry sources said the
tender was marred by the controversy over allegations of proxy
companies of dubious individuals.
