Aurangabad, Maharashtra, Dec 11: A book, delineating the rich culture and heritage of this historic city in Central Maharashtra, was unveiled here.
The book, 'Aurangabad', is a comprehensive heritage guide on the art, culture and architecture of the city. It documents the region s historical and cultural landscape and highlights various aspects heritage structures like the world famous Ajanta, Ellora and Pithalkhora.
Skoda Auto India's managing director Imran Hassen released the book at a function last evening.
Speaking on the occasion, Hassen said, ''a book of this kind was long due. Aurangabad has a rich heritage to showcase and with the rise in tourism it is important that our history is well documented.''
The over 80-page book has been compiled by the Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH), a non-profit organisation founded in 1984, which is actively involved in conservation of historically significant buildings/structures.
