BJP to study legal implications of Governor`s order

Terming UP Chief Minister`s allegation that the BJP used the CBI and the court to frame her in the Taj Heritage corridor case as baseless, the saffron party today said it would examine legal implications of Governor`s denial of sanction to prosecute her.

New Delhi, June 05: Terming UP Chief Minister's allegation that the BJP used the CBI and the court to frame her in the Taj Heritage corridor case as baseless, the saffron party today said it would examine legal implications of Governor's denial of sanction to prosecute her.
"This is a baseless allegation. The BJP has neither accused her nor filed any chargesheet against her. It was a PIL in the Supreme Court and the case started on orders of the Supreme Court," BJP spokesman Prakash Javadekar said.

"At the same time, the BJP has always stood up against corruption. We will examine legal implications of Governor T V Rajeswar's order," he said.

Attacking BJP for "maligning" her image, Mayawati accused it of using the CBI and the court to frame her in the Taj corridor case.

Hours after the CBI told a designated court that the Governor had declined sanction to prosecute her in the case, Mayawati at a press conference in Lucknow also charged the media with joining the BJP in maligning her.
