Bern, Oct 30: Switzerland`s capital is unlike its neighbouring cities - you won`t find any cosmopolitan hullabaloo here. Less glamorous than, say. 5. Munster (Cathedral) - Landmark cathedral with a portal depicting The Last Judgement and dazzling stained glass windows. It also boasts the tallest steeple in Switzerland.
6. Zytgloggeturn (Clock Tower) - Lays claim to being the oldest building in Bern, built in 1191 as a city gate and given a makeover in 1530 with the addition of a monumental clock.
Weather - Summers are often warm but winters are cold and damp. Highest temperatures average 25 degrees C in the months of July and August, reaching a low of 3 degrees C in December.
Airports - Belp Airport (9KM South of Bern). Take a bus from the airport to the train station for 14 SF or a taxi for about 35F.
