Mumbai, April 29: Perfectionism comes at a cost and so does Mr Perfectionist Aamir Khan! A hard taskmaster, whose expertise not every filmmaker can afford, especially when Aamir extends no concessions to even near and dear ones. Money matters a lot to this Khan, whose moolah love has cost him two of his old pals and a plum movie project, grabbed by ace rival Shah Rukh Khan.
At a time, when the industry is struggling to survive the global financial downturn, Aamir Khan has seemingly turned a blind eye to the credit crunch and is unwilling to budge from his whooping fee. The actor’s ‘no price concession’ nakhra is costing him dearly and turning his friends into foes.
According to the latest buzz in filmdom, Aamir’s pricey act has become a cause of disdain between him and good pals Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani. The friendly threesome’s yaarana has gone corrupt and Aamir’s money love is to be blamed for this.
Buzz has it that Ritesh had gone to meet Aamir on the sets of ‘3 Idiots’ to get the actor on board for his next film. Though the actor agreed, the fee was yet to be decided.
However, when it came to finalizing the deal, Farhan and Ritesh were left gobsmacked over Aamir’s stubborn attitude. The actor reportedly declined to give any fee concession. Stunned at Aamir’s pernickety act, the duo then went to approach King Khan, who was much too pleased to oblige Sidhwani’s request.
A source told to a news daily, "When the three got down to finalise the deal they had a major disagreement over certain terms and conditions laid by Aamir. A disgruntled Ritesh then left the sets in a huff.”
Confirming to a news daily, Ritesh Sidhwani said, “Yes, it is true that we were working on the film with Aamir and were supposed to start it but now it is not happening.”
On the demands made by Aamir, Sidhwani said, “I don’t want to get into all this but yes he had demands which were not acceptable to me. We are now speaking to another actor.”
