Himachal Pradesh likely to pass SGST Bill next week

A two-day Himachal Pradesh assembly session will be held from May 26, wherein the State Goods and Services Tax (SGST) Bill is likely to be passed.

Shimla: A two-day Himachal Pradesh assembly session will be held from May 26, wherein the State Goods and Services Tax (SGST) Bill is likely to be passed, an official said on Thursday.

A notification for convening the session was issued on Thursday.

Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh, who also holds the finance portfolio, will move the bill on May 27, which is likely to be supported by the main opposition Bharatiya Janata Party.

The assembly sitting on the first day is likely to be adjourned after condoling the passing away of Cabinet Minister Karan Singh, who died on May 12.

The central government aims to roll out the new indirect tax regime across the country from July.
