At the age of 34, Hans Raj from Churah constituency is the youngest BJP candidate for the 2017 elections. 

He is the son of Shri Nirmal. 

He was Born on April 24, 1983, at Dhaiyas, Chamba. 

He has multiple degrees with a B.A, B.Ed, M.A. and M.Phil to his credit. 

He is married to Smt. Hameeru Devi, who is a homemaker. 

The Churah constituency was ruled by Congress for nearly 10 years until its Surendra Bhadwaj lost the seat to Hans Raj in 2012. He had won with a margin of 2211 votes. For the upcoming assembly elections, Congress has once again nominated Bhardwaj on the same seat.

Hans Raj was elected to the State Assembly for the first time in December 2012. 

He has worked for the development of education, health and environment under 'Pratham' NGO.
