SHIMLA: Himachal Pradesh elections will be held in a single-phase on November 9, 2017, while the counting on December 18, 2017. The hill state has 68 constituencies. The term of the 68-member Himachal Pradesh Assembly comes to an end on January 7, 2018.

One of the Vidhan Sabha constituencies is Bharmour which comes under Chamba district. 
It is also part of Mandi Lok Sabha constituency. In 2010, Bharmour has 66,373 electors. 

Bharmour is also known as the little temple town.

In 2012, Congress's Thakur Singh Bharmouri won the Assembly elections with 24751 votes.

This year, the Election Commission will see the use of Voter-Verified Paper Audit Trail (VVPATs) with all Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs). This means votes will be able to visually verify if the vote they have cast has indeed gone to the candidate of their choice. The move is aimed at quashing allegations of EVM fraud and hacking that emerge from time to time after elections.
