Pradyuman murder: Post-mortem report cites shock and haemorrhage as cause of death

Gurugram: The post-mortem report of seven-year-old Pradyuman, who was brutally murdered inside the premises of Ryan International School, reveals shock and haemorrhage as the cause of the death.

Class 2 student Pradyuman Thakur was found with his throat slit in the school washroom last Friday on September 8.

The report further says that an external injury was caused by a single-edged sharp weapon and its consequences were enough to cause death in a normal case of nature.

Earlier, the doctor, who had conducted the post-mortem had said Pradyuman was not sexually assaulted.

"There were no physical injury marks on the body. Body samples were sent for forensic analysis, which established that he was not sexually assaulted," senior forensic expert Deepak Mathur had said.

Police have alleged that 42-year-old bus conductor Ashok Kumar killed the Class II student with a knife after the boy resisted an attempt to sodomise him. Kumar has been arrested.

The case has snowballed into a major national issue concerning safety and security of children in private schools, with vociferous protests by parents and activists outside the Ryan schools in several states including Mumbai and Navi Mumbai.

The Haryana government on Friday recommended a CBI probe into the murder of a seven-year-old boy and took over its management for three months.

Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar made the announcement after half-an-hour meeting the family members of Pradyuman.
