Ahmedabad: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday inaugurated the TransStadia Arena, a stadium complex in Maninagar area in Gujarat's Ahmedabad.

The prime minister inaugurated the TransStadia Arena, almost eight months after the venue played host to a world sporting event.

Soon after the inauguration, PM Modi addressed a gathering present there and said, "Those familiar with the area in which this stadium is will tell you how different it looked a decade ago & how it changed for the better."

"The determination of our sportspersons is admirable. They have pursued their passion with great diligence," he added further.

"We must adopt a culture where sports is appreciated and supported, starting from the family," the prime minister added further.

"Khel Mahakumbh has brought a strong shift and further encouraged a sporting culture in Gujarat," he said.
