Scientists say that 5 million square kilometer landmark east of Australia is a continent and this theory is backed by satellite data and rock samples.

New Delhi: There has been another addition to the number of continents in the Earth. Scientists claim to have unearthed a new continent which they named 'Zealandia'.

Scientists say that 5 million square kilometer landmark east of Australia is a continent and this theory is backed by satellite data and rock samples.

 

Experts also propoes that the new continent could possibly have economic and geopolitical implications.

Zealandia includes the regions of New Zealand and New Caledonia and is believed to be mostly submerged.

This would possibly be the world's most thinnest, smallest and youngest continent.
