Scarlett campaigns for women`s health care

Los Angeles: Hollywood beauty Scarlett Johansson is campaigning against the US government`s decision to eliminate USD 300 million of federal funding for women`s health care centers.

The 26-year-old actress has teamed up with the organisation Planned Parenthood to film a new public service advertisement urging women to sign a petition opposing the new legislation, reported Us magazine online.

"The House passed a bill to eliminate our country`s family planning program and to stop Planned Parenthood health centres from receiving any federal money to provide life-saving preventative care," the `Iron Man` 2 star says in
the advertisement.

"That means no money for cervical cancer screenings and breast exams. No money for testing and treatment of STDs, not even testing for HIV. No money for birth control," added the actress.

Johansson, who is now dating actor Sean Penn, 50, after separating from `The Proposal` star Ryan Reynolds last year, called the government`s plan "disastrous."
