New Delhi: On Day 1 of Kangana Ranaut's reality show Lock Upp, contestants already started making alliances and got into heavy arguments with each other. Things, it seems, will only get more complex and harder for the 'prisoners' of this 'jail'.

Payal Rohatgi was unhappy with the lack of sunlight in the prison and requested the jailor to provide them with an area that has sunlight. While some contestants agreed with her such as Sara Khan and Nisha Rawal, others including Munawar Faruqui felt she was overreacting and expecting too much from a 'jail'.

Later, Karanvir Bohra sent a sweet message to his children via the jail cameras and asked them to behave until he comes home after the show.

The contestants then got into a discussion about their individual controversies and how they didn't create them but the media did. Sara Khan expressed that the media made her life a controversy when she was merely living her life and minding her own business.

Swami Chakrapani Maharaj also chimed in and said that he never purposely did things to be visible in the media but rather they approached him.

Raveena Tandon talked to the contestants through a screen and informed them that she will be their jailor for a day. She also explained a few basic rules to them before leaving. Since there was a shortage of amenities in the house, Nisha Rawal suggested that all the contestants share their amenities - an idea that everyone liked.

Later, Payel spoke about her verbal spat with Kangana Ranaut during the premiere where Kangana called Payal a 'leech'. She said that she didn't want to be disrespected so she accused Kangana of butting into other people's issues as well.

The contestants were then divided into two teams - orange and blue. It wasn't clear what the consequences of this division was, however.

On the first day itself, contestants were asked to nominate two people who they thought shouldn't be in jail and go home. Many truths and people's perceptions about each other came out in the open with this task.
