New Delhi: There is good news in store for travel buffs. Soon, the temple cities of Rishikesh and Haridwar will be accorded with a title of 'heritage cities'. According to a report published in TOI.com, the Union tourism ministry will be making the announcement soon.
Union tourism minister Mahesh Sharma was quoted as saying that funds are being allocated for the development of the two cities which will also be connected with a metro rail network in the near future, reportedly.
Both Rishikesh and Haridwar attract a lot of tourists every year, irrespective of any particular boon season. Both these places have religious significance and therefore the government is also reportedly planning to work upon developing a world-class yoga and spirituality centres for the visitors.
