London: Hollywood star Angelina Jolie has reportedly splurged 12 million pounds on purchasing a heart shaped island for her fiance Brad Pitt`s 50th birthday.
When the 38-year-old Oscar-winning actress discovered that the island in Petra boasts two homes designed by Pitt`s favourite architect Frank Lloyd Wright, she allegedly decided to buy it as a birthday present for the actor, who turns 50 on December 18, reported Daily Mirror.
"As soon as Angelina heard the island was on the market she arranged a viewing. She was really impressed. The house is perfect for romantic getaways or as a family retreat," a source said.
"It`s very private. And Angelina knows the fact the island is in the shape of a heart will mean so much to him," the source added.
The island that has a helicopter pad, is 50 miles north of the New York City.
The cottage boasts modern architecture and has stone, cement, mahogany and skylights.
