New Delhi: In a relief of sorts to veteran filmmaker Mani Ratnam, the Madras High Court on Tuesday imposed a restrain order on 12 telecommunication companies over the copyright issue of his film 'OK Kanmani'.
Besides these 12 telecom companies, two other online sites too have been ordered restrain, reportedly. According to a leading daily, Ratnam had sought court help after his film was easily available on the internet, infringing the copyright's act.
Ratnam was quoted as saying that, internet piracy can be withheld by banning the URLs of sites involved in disseminating the original content, reportedly.
Ratnam's petition is scheduled for hearing next week, reportedly.
