Thane: Having won accolades for crooning the 'Pinga' song along with Shreya Ghoshal in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's recent magnum opus 'Bajirao Mastani', singer Vaishali Mhade wants aspiring youngsters to try their best to excel in the field of music.

"The youths should not give up and try their best to reach the top," Vaishali said at the Malvani Mahotsav here last night.

The singer said she has been visiting various educational institutes in the state with an intention to advice young and aspiring youths to make a career in music. Citing her own example, she said when she first went to participate in TV show "Sa Re Ga Ma Pa", she was rejected.

"But I was not dejected and was determined that I will give it a second try, and I got selected and topped," said Mhade, who won Zee TV's reality series "Sa Re Ga Ma Pa
Challenge 2009".

To a question, she said Bhansali had heard her sing in "Sa Re Ga Ma...". Later, he called her up and asked her to sing a song in his film, to which she agreed. "Till the day the song was released, I did not inform anyone that I had sung it," she said.

The singer said there is uncertainty in Bollywood and one does not know what changes when. "I was not sure that the song will see the light of the day. Hence, I did not discuss the same," said Vaishali who has also lent her voice to "Fitoori" song in the same film. "I felt privileged and delighted on getting the offer in the movie for the song," said the 31-year-old singer, who hails from Amravati in Maharashtra.

On the difference between Marathi and Hindi films, Mhade said in a lighter vein, "In Marathi, I feel I am in 'Maheri' (mother's house) and in Hindi naturally there is tension and pressure and I feel I am in 'Sasri' (in-laws' house)."
