Los Angeles: Singers The Weeknd and Lana Del Rey's gloomy duet "Prisoner" has surfaced online.

The slow-tempo ballad is featured on The Weeknd's "Beauty Behind the Madness" album that's due out on August 28, reported Aceshowbiz. The song sounds like something from the 25-year-old Canadian singer's old mixtape or album.

Over the dark beat, he sings about his drug and party-filled lifestyle. He admits in the chorus, "I'm a prisoner to my addiction/ I'm addicted to a life that's so empty and so cold."

Del Rey joins him later to deliver the second verse about how she loves Hollywood that has changed her in a bad way. "I think I've been in Hollywood for too long/ Cause I can feel my soul burning, feel it burning slow/ But I would be nothing without the touch/ I feel the rush and it's amazing," she says.

Having spawned big hits like "Earned It", "The Hills" and "Can't Feel My Face", The Weeknd's "Madness" album is due out on August 28.

He also worked with Ed Sheeran and Kanye West on the follow-up to 2013's "Kiss Land".
