Mumbai: Music maestro A R Rahman's iconic track "Vande Mataram" was launched in virtual reality format by giving it a 360 degrees immersive experience at the 10th edition of NFDC Film Bazaar, here.

The film was shot on 4k stereoscopic and follows the 49-year-old musician's tribute concert to Bharat Ratna M S Subbulakshmi, which he performed at the United Nations in New York on August 15 earlier this year.

"The way we enjoy art is getting closer to real day-by-day... I am so excited to share it after dismissing VR in the beginning as a passing fad". “Then I took a year and a half to understand the scope and possibilities... Each week, things are getting better for future creators to create their own way to express through a wholesome sensory experience," Rahman said.

The magic of VR tribute will be once again recreated as Rahman will share his experiences of making the film in the conversation with the acclaimed documentary filmmaker and author Nasreen Munni Kabir on November 23.

The session here will focus on the meeting of technology and art.
