Will SRK and Alia's 'Dear Zindagi' be able to recreate the magic of 'English Vinglish'?

Mumbai: Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan and Alia Bhatt's much-awaited movie 'Dear Zindagi' is scheduled to hit the screens on November 25.

Alia Bhat, who is the new flavour of the tinsel town, has been paired opposite a 53-year-old Shah Rukh Khan  who plays an 'unconventional thinker' Jehangir or Jug in this romcom which has been directed by Gauri Shinde.

In 'Dear Zindagi', Alia plays 'Kaira' -  a would-be filmmaker - who approaches Jug for his advices and life lessons.

SRK, who has long played romantic roles in his nearly 3-decade long highly successful Bollywood career, impresses Kaira with his unique humour and brand of wisdom that ranges from advising her to 'recycle' her repeated old jokes when beyond 'repair' and not stopping to help when she falls off her cycle.

Both SRK and Alia Bhatt, who has clocked a rocking 2016 with the films like 'Kapoor And Sons', 'Udta Punjab' and now 'Dear Zindagi' are keeping high expectations with the film, believing that it will strike an emotional chord with the audience as Gauri Shinde's first film 'English Vinglish' with Sridevi did.

In Alia Bhatt's word, 'Jehangir Khan', the character played by SRK, is the kind of man a woman wants. "Yes, he is definitely the kind of guy women want," she said.

Speaking about the film, Gauri Shinde, who has directed the two actors in 'Dear Zindagi', said that Shah Rukh Khan's stardom has not overshadowed the film and that the inspiration for the movie came from her own life experiences.

'Dear Zindagi' also stars Kunal Kapoor, Aditya Roy Kapur, Angad Bedi, Ira Dubey and Ali Zafar.
