New Delhi: Hollywood flick 'Independence Day: Resurgence' showcases a lot of global destruction. International marvels such as Petronas towers and Burj Khalifa can be seen shattering into pieces in the second edition of 1996 release 'Independence Day'.

As per reports, director Roland Emmerich also planned an alien invasion on Gateway of India and Taj Mahal in his upcoming release. But, apparently, his plans didn't work out well.

"Well, Indians are too touchy. Keeping the sensitivities of all the religious groups and other activists in mind, the makers were asked to not shoot in India or portray any prominent monuments being damaged," a source from the 20th Century Fox told Mumbai Mirror.
