Washington: Vanessa Williamsrecently said that Meryl Streep took away her 'Into the Woods' role.
Williams had played the role of 'The Witch' in the Broadway revival of Stephen Sondheim's " Into the Woods ," in 2002, but when the show got its way to the big screen, Streep was signed for the part, Fox News reported.
The 51-year-old Broadway actress said that she would have loved to re-do the role as she loved the show which had a great run.
Williams further added that it has always been a trend that Broadway actors got replaced by Hollywood stars, but every actor should be given a chance to show their talent.
