'Udta Punjab' controversy: Anurag Kashyap took money from AAP, accuses CBFC chief Pahlaj Nihalani

New Delhi: The controversy surrounding upcoming Bollywood film 'Udta Punjab' is getting murkier by the day. Allegations and counter-allegations have given the hullabaloo a political twist. Pahlaj Nihalani, the head of Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has reportedly claimed that he has heard co-producer of 'Udta Punjab' - Anurag Kashyap - took money from Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).

Nihalani also made some shocking revelations while talking to Times now. "I heard that the AAP had paid Kashyap to portray Punjab in bad light," he reportedly said.

Meanwhile, ANI quotes Nihalani as saying, "Picture has been passed but with certain cuts, there is no politics in CBFC."

When Times Now further contacted the 'Bombay Velvet' director for a reaction, he said, "It is not worth a reaction. This is defense of the guilty."

AAP on the other hand has decided to hold an emergency press briefing.  Kumar Vishwas has refuted all the charges made by CBFC chief regarding Anurag being backed by their party, reportedly.

More details awaited.
