Los Angeles: "Gone Girl" star Rosamund Pike has joined actor Jon Hamm in an upcoming political action thriller "High Wire Act".
Tony Gilroy has the script for the project, which will be directed by Brad Anderson, said The Hollywood Reporter.
Set in 1980's Beirut, the story sees Hamm, 44, as a former US diplomat, who is called back into service to save a former colleague from the group possibly responsible for his own family's death.
The 36-year-old British actress will play a CIA field agent working undercover at the American embassy, who is tasked with keeping the diplomat alive and ensuring the mission is a success.
Ted Field, Gilroy and Mike Weber are producing. The project is aiming for a January 2016 start.
