Los Angeles: A film based on the hit HBO series, "Flight of the Conchords", is being developed.

Actor-musician Jemaine Clement said he and bandmate Bret McKenzie have been working on the movie but did not put a deadline to the project, reported Aceshowbiz.

"We have actually started writing one. But who knows if it will ever be made, we've written some notes for some different film ideas. We're not down to the stage where we're going, 'The film is going to be like this,' it could be this, this, this, this, this," Clement said.

Talks about a film had started right after the show's series finale in 2009. Two years later, McKenzie said in an interview, "We're going to try and do a movie. We just need a story." HBO said nothing about a movie project at that time.

The 2007 comedy series followed the adventures of Flight of the Conchords, a two-man band from New Zealand, as its members Clement and McKenzie sought fame and success in New York City. The two played fictionalised versions of themselves.
