'Dumb And Dumber' director says Jim Carrey got 140 times more money than Jeff Daniels

Washington: Writer-directors Bobby and Peter Farrelly have revealed that Jim Carrey was paid 150 times more money Jeff Danielsin the original ' Dumb And Dumber'.

In an interview to the Hollywood Reporter, they revealed that Daniels was only paid around 50,000 dollars, while Carrey was given a 7 million dollar payday.

Bobby revealed that the studio initially didn't even want Daniels in the role and wasn't the obvious choice because he hadn't done any, you know, out and out comedies before that and Carrey was originally offered 350,000 dollars for the role, but after "Ace Ventura: Pet Detective" took off at the box office, the negotiations went up to seven million.
