Los Angeles: Actor Will Ferrell has been roped in to star in ‘Tom`s Dad’, an upcoming comedy film from Oscar-nominated Swedish director Lasse Hallstrom.
Ferrell will play Arthur, a struggling nightclub performer in the 1960s Nevada who gets saddled with his estranged 12-year-old son after his former wife leaves on a three-week trip. Arthur is forced to try and re-connect with the boy, reports hollywoodreporter.com.
The shooting of ‘Tom`s Dad’ is expected to begin early next year.
Ferrell is coming off the Warner Bros` comedy ‘Get Hard’ and will next appear alongside Mark Wahlberg in "Daddy`s Home". He is currently shooting ‘Zoolander 2’.
