Patrick Dempsey denies being 'sacked' from 'Grey's Anatomy' due to 'fling'

London: Patrick Dempsey has denied the claims that he was fired from 'Grey's Anatomy' following a fling with a colleague.

The actor, who popularly played Dr. Derek Shepherd, was killed off on the show recently, and sources had claimed it was after some he had an inappropriate relationship with a young woman who worked on the set, the Mirror reported.

It was also reported that the actor's divorce from wife of 15 years, Jillian Fink, too was a result of his infidelity as Ellen Pompeo, who plays Meredith Grey, had found out about it, and told Fink.

However, rep for Dempsey, who had stated his huge workload as the reason for partition, has called the rumours "absurd" and "ridiculous."
