Mumbai: The grand finale of `Rahul Dulhaniya Le Jayega` is just a matter of few hours now, and news has it that businesswoman and socialite Maureen Wadia has slapped a show cause notice on Dimpy Ganguly, one of the contestants from the reality show where late BJP leader Pramod Mahajan’s son Rahul Mahajan is set to tie the knot.
According to the notice, Dimpy Ganguly, a Kolkata based model, has jeopardised an exclusive contract with Gladrags by taking part in the reality show. Venting her anger over the audacity of Dimpy, a fuming Maureen shot a letter to the channel hosting ‘Rahul Dulhaniya Le Jayenga.’
Talking to a news daily, an incensed Maureen said, “She (Dimpy) has always been a problem child and had scant regard for discipline. We (the Gladrags Mega Model Hunt organisers) had a very tough time managing her. There were incidents where she would vanish at 3 am and emerge a couple of hours later. Then she would say with a straight face that she had gone to meet a friend in Malad. Imagine a girl, who had come to Mumbai for the first time, going to Malad from Wadala at 3 am just to meet friends! And now, I see the same girl turning coy, flirting with Rahul left, right and centre and promising to be a good wife.”
Meanwhile, the TV channel acknowledged the acceptance of the letter from Maureen and said, “We were surprised to hear about this matter three weeks after our show was launched. The show was launched on February 1, 2010. We received the first communication from Gladrags on February 22, 2010, mentioning about their contract with Dimpy Ganguly.”
However, this hasn’t calmed Maureen a bit as she added, “I don’t know how someone who lies like this will make a good wife. I would have been happy to let her do anything had she asked me once. I am really pained to see girls like her suffer from what I call ‘fame amnesia’. Some people are so desperate for fame and publicity that they keep on lying like this. I gave her centre stage, groomed her and now she has turned her back and lied to me. I have also sent a letter to her father in Kolkata but I am yet to get a reply.”
